Customer Reviews & Ratings
This place is an in n out situation b/c it gets busy. It is a sit down but maybe like 30 ppl max occupancy? Simple clean broth. Straight forward menu. Clean duck. So nice to find duck and seems like the perfect meal if sick or in need of nourishment. If you're a big eater it probably won't fill you up maybe opt for the porridge? It's enough for regular eaters just not like hefty eaters. The duck sauce was delicious and I love the pickled onions offered. Great find.
Honestly came here with low expectations since there wasn't a lot of people inside. I was shocked how good the Chao and mien was . I tried both duck and chicken , they both tasted fresh and not fishy . Their sauce to dip was good too. I feel like their dishes were big enough to share too.
BOMB.com. This place is so good. Second time here and I am still so impressed and satisfied with my meal! I got the glass noodles with duck on the side the two times I came here and I highly recommend it! Don't get the rice dish unless you know for a fact you love the hardened rice because my bf made the mistake of wanting to try something new and he regretted his decision. Their dipping sauce is soooo good as well. Broth is sooo good. Vietnamese salad under the duck is also sooo good. Everything is just so darn good here. Plenty of parking since it shares a lot with other restaurants nearby and it's not a super busy plaza. 10/10 would recommend!
One of my favorite restaurants in town. Famous about the duck meat salad with noodle soup . But all other items on the menu are also decent . They provide free hot/ice tea. That's also a plus. Service was fast and nice. Small but cozy restaurant.
Food good. Service good. Ambiance bit loud/crammed. Overall great place for great rice noodle soup w/ bamboo shoots and stir-fried duck on mixed VN style coleslaw salad w/ ginger fish sauce. Can choose duck and/or chicken. Came on holiday weekend Monday around noon and quickly got packed. Quite small and clean place with nice modern interior. A bit shorthanded but staff kept up very well. Came with high expectations because we enjoy duck w/ fish sauce and this type of salad. Ordered duck (dark meat) noodle soup w/ bamboo shoots and duck rice hoi an. Recommend to get the soup over the hoi an rice because hoi an rice was too hard and not crunchy enough for my liking. Their fish sauce is excellent. Great soup options on a cold day. Would come back.
My bun vit was perfect to me. Tender and not gamey at all duck paired with a warm delicate noodle soup. The hainan chicken with crispy rice was the best I've had in OC. The salad was crunchy and tart enough to balance the duck. ( Tip: you can order any mix of wing, breast, and thigh for your duck salad). The broth was light and flavorful, and the perfect temperature for the cold night I went on. The chicken from the rice dish was even more tender than the duck. It came with a mini papaya salad and a house made pate with made the dish really addicting to eat. Free ice tea and refills too! Might need some effort to flag a server down but they are very nice Note: smaller restaurant and plaza so might be hard to find parking during the day (same plaza as mama hieu) but luckily plenty at night!
Miến vịt xáo măng -- bean thread glass noodles with stir-fry bamboo shoots + ($14.99) comes with a side of duck colesaw salad topped fried shallots, and peanuts (as seen in the picture). I asked for the bean thread noddles on the side -- I didn't want my noddles get too soft in the hot broth. The broth was very light, aromatic, and full of flavor. The duck was juicy and less fattening than other places I've tried. My friend got a side of chicken and he said it's better than the duck. The restaurant pretty modern and clean. Service was great, worth the wait. If you like mien ga, you probably would like mien vit. So far, my favorite place to eat bun/mien mang vit.
If you are looking for a healthy and clean porridge, you come here because you can tell that they seem more sanitized compared to Chao Dem. Though, it doesn't have much flavor as they don't put much seasoning here compared to Chao Dem which is why I said it's healthy. Also, their ducks taste better than chickens in my opinion. We ordered Chao Vit and Bun Vit Xao Mang but we can't taste any flavor from them unless we pour the fish sauce into them to give them some seasoning. I really love the service here because they bring me lots of positive energy and they are very polite. It just makes me feel happy somehow from seeing the young servers here. So, like I mentioned if you're looking for healthy and sanitized porridge then you come here. But if you are looking for good porridge, this might not be the place because it tastes plain by itself. Overall, still recommend trying this location
